If you completed Step 1 of “Be Great at Producing Results” you now know how much stuff in your life is currently undone. If you didn’t complete the exercise and you really do want to break your pattern of procrastination then I invite you to directly sign up for the Productivity Transformed course. During the 8 week course we coach you on how to break your patterns of procrastination and produce the results you want on time. There is no time like the present so go back and complete Step 1. Research shows that if you break down goals into small steps and set multiple deadlines your rate of success increases and so does the quality of work.
Now if you did complete step 1. Congratulations and if you are like most of the clients I’ve worked with you may be saying to yourself “I feel more stressed now, I thought this was going to make things better.” That is perfectly natural! We have just brought everything that is undone in your life and business right into your view. This has been nagging at you subconsciously and consciously this shows up as stress and a reminder of how much you have not finished or accomplished in the past. What can also occur to you at this point is the desire to bury all of it and stop participating in this exercise. I invite you to resist that urge and stay with the program as it will get better soon and you are on track to be a person who produces great results and has peace of mind.
The next step is to go through the list and break it down into 3 categories.
Category 1 - NOW
You promise to schedule in your calendar now. Mark (N) next to each list item
Category 2 - 30 DAYS
You promise to schedule these within the next 30 days but you are not ready to schedule them now. Mark (30) next to each item.
Category 3 - REVIEW
You promise not to do anything with these items right now and will review this list ongoing to see if things change based on your priorities. Mark (R) next to each item on the list.
These can be ideas, new projects you have in mind or plans for the future. At this point they are not actionable based on your current goals. You can also note next each of the (R)’s a date that you would like to review it. Example: Sailing Trip - R - Nov 2011
After this exercise you will have a list with N, 30, R next to each item on the list.
In seven days I will send out the next step so make sure you sign up for my facebook page or my blog.
Have a question? Make a comment below and I will post the answer for everyone. If you have a questions then others are likely going to have the same questions.
I look forward to interacting with you online.
